It sometimes seems like there is no decent way to meet a member of the opposite sex any more. Clubs and bars are just dicey and there are only so many people that you can meet through your friends. So, out of curiosity and a bit of frustration, I decided that it was time to try online dating. I started chatting to Vincent on this site and was really just attracted to his profile picture and great sense of humour. After a few e-mails, we decided it was time to meet up. We had a lovely dinner and missed our movie because of all the chatting and after a year and a half we are happily engaged. This opportunity presented itself through an online platform that is often perceived with great scepticism. I have to disagree and say that just like any other channel that opens you up to meeting new people, this one works just as well. Of course, one should always exercise discretion and tact but at the end of the day, there are plenty of other people just like us who have taken the plunge and found themselves in a story with a happy ending.
